William Underwood is actively admitted and licensed to practice law in:

• all Courts in the State of Texas

William practices in all areas of criminal defense and trial work, both at the misdemeanor and felony levels, but his primary area of focus is D.W.I. defense.

William is a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he received numerous commendations while serving as a nuclear reactor operator in the submarine service.

Following his military service, he completed a B.S. degree in Economics, Summa Cum Laude, at the College of Charleston in 1990. Additional collegiate honors include the Fanchon Morrow Condon award for outstanding academic performance in Business and Economics, multiple inclusions on the Dean's List and in Who's Who, and election to the Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Epsilon, and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies.  

After several years in the restaurant management arena, William obtained his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1998, where he acted as an Associate Editor for the Houston Law Review and received the Corpus Juris Secundum Award for excellence in the field of Criminal Law. 

When he's not representing clients in the courtroom, William enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including snow skiing, water skiing, wake boarding, scuba diving, camping, canoing, target shooting and big game hunting.  On the tamer side, William's favorite leisure pursuits include spirited games of chess and dominoes, along with meditating, reading, and especially, writing.  His debut novel, The Ultimate Monkey, is expected to be released early next year, along with his second novel, Revokable Trust.

He resides in McKinney with his wife, San, and their daughter, Kaitlyn. William's other "kids,"  include a German Short-haired pointer named Kipling, a chocolate Lab called Hank, and Nosler, a Weimaraner.
